Use these tips to play the large BTB map Oasis, which came out with Halo Infinite’s Season 3: Echoes Within update.

Oasis is the biggest of the three new maps added to Halo Infinite with the Season 3 Update. It can hold up to 24 players in a Big Team match. The list of large capacity maps gets a breath of fresh air with Oasis. A place of refuge in a selection that might be getting dry for regular Big Team players. It’s a good map both in terms of how it looks and how it plays.

On a big map, it’s not easy to stay alive and make a big difference with a group of twelve people. But, as with any map, there are usually ways to stay alive longer or help a team reach its goals more quickly. The same is true of Oasis. At the end of the day, it comes down to knowing where weapons, items, goals, and vantage points are.

Control The Wasp

The one Wasp is one of the first things you notice about Oasis. The Wasp is in the middle of the map on a platform that hangs over the edge of the cliff next to the Oasis. Unlike the Wasps you can find on Highpower after a certain amount of time, you can get this Wasp right away. It starts a power struggle between the two teams right away, first over the Wasp and then over the game itself once it has been taken over.

Most players will agree that having a wasp on your team is a big plus. If a Wasp is used well and the other team doesn’t kill it, it can easily win Drive Mad game. Move as quickly as you can to the Wasp to keep the other team from getting it.

How To Get The Wasp Quickly And (Relatively) Safely

Players can quickly get to the Wasp by using vehicles at their base or the man cannons or conveyor lifts. But it’s safer to go around the Oasis and toward the edge of the cliff. Either by going up the ramp that leads down to the Wasp Pad area or by taking the quiet, built-in-to-the-cliff-edge paths on either side of it.

Players who try to escape through the middle of the Oasis or along the channel that leads to the Wasp will be easy to spot and won’t have much protection. And they should be careful of the dangerous gap before the Wasp.

Using Plasma Coils In Closed Areas

Holding a Plasma Coil In-game on Halo Infinite

A lot of Plasma Coils can be found in the Cave and Facility on Oasis. Some are also scattered around the two bases. Plasma Coils aren’t the best tools for traveling long distances because Spartans can’t run or move quickly while holding them. Not only that, but enemies can spot Plasma Coils thrown at them from a mile away.

In tighter spaces, however, they can be used to get a one-shot kill on an enemy who is coming around a corner. Getting a Plasma Coil can give players an edge in a pinch, whether they are holding the Cave or Facility or just passing through. Especially players with simple weapons or who are running low on ammunition.

Finding Anti-Vehicle Armaments

If you want to avoid a hard fight with a Wasp or Ghost, which are both available from the start, it’s best to have weapons or items that can turn the tables. Even before weapons or ammunition drop, there are plenty of chances to get anti-vehicle gear on Oasis, just like on any other map.

At either base, the Grappleshot tools are on the upper floor. There will be Shock Rifles or Stalker Rifles at either base, like in the back building of the Wall Base or on the top floor of the Tower Base next to the grapple jack. If there are Hydra weapons, they will spawn at South Point, in a small building on the edge of a cliff in front of Tower Base, or in the small silo building for Wall Base. There are also a lot of places where grenades can spawn all over the map. Most of the time, the best way to deal with vehicles, like wasps, that are hard to hit with Spike or Plasma Grenades is to use a Dynamo Grenade.

Sniper Locations

Each base will have a long-ranged power weapon like the Sniper Rifle or Skewer spawn next to it. Either weapon can destroy a Wasp or Ghost, taking away the vehicle advantage of the other team. This spawn point is on the cliff side of Wall Base, between the tall rock formations.

The long-ranged power weapon from Tower Base spawns at South Point. Be careful when sniping from the sloping rock formations between Tower Base and the Oasis. These are good places to get a good view, but Ghosts can easily boost up the slopes to catch players off guard and kill them.

Power Item Locations

At the front of the Facility, on the upper level, in the window. You can find a Gravity Hammer or an Energy Sword. The gravity lift in the map’s center takes players straight there. In the middle of the oasis, between the gravity lift and the Wasp. You can find an Active Camo or Overshield.

At the back of the Cave is an area called the Cave Lift. On the lift, players can find an Overshield or Active Camo utility, and right next to it is an M41 SPNKr/Cindershot power weapon in a tunnel that leads from the lift to the Facility. Last but not least, there is one more piece of Power Equipment on the raised area in the main Facility area.

Capture the Flag Locations

  • Tower Base First Flag Location: In front, outside, by the conveyor lift.
  • Second Flag Tower Base Place: The room closest to Tower Base in the Facility.
  • Final Tower Base Flag Place: In the middle of the structure of the Tower Base.
  • Wall Base First Flag Location: In the room next to Wall Base that is called “Facility.”
  • Wall Second Flag Base Location: It appears in a small room on the ground floor of Wall Base’s middle building.
  • Wall Base’s final location is in the big building at the back. Closest to the wall, which is also where it is.

Stockpile Power Seed Locations

In the Stockpile game mode, the Power Seeds that players need to collect to score are scattered around the map in neutral areas. It’s helpful for players to know where they spawn. So they can go to where they think the next one will be.

On the Oasis map, power seeds will spawn in the center at the Oasis. In the main room of the Facility area, or on the Cave Lift before cycling back through.
